A noisy recording may no longer need a complete retake. NVIDIA released Broadcast 2.3.0 with a new File Processor that applies supported audio and video effects to prerecorded files. The October 13 announcement says the update is available to download now.
For creators, the useful change is timing: Broadcast’s effects can now be applied after recording. NVIDIA says some effects use higher-quality processing in file mode. The Click Test has not tested that claim or the resulting audio and video.
Check your PC before downloading
This is a Windows app, including Windows on Arm, requiring compatible NVIDIA hardware. The download page lists an RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, RTX Spark or higher, plus at least 8 GB RAM. It is not a phone app or a browser tool.
NVIDIA has described Broadcast as free. The current download page displays version 2.3.0 and no software price; we have not checked the installer or account flow. Compatible hardware is still required.
What the update supports
The 2.3.0 release notes list MP4, M4A, MP3 and WAV, H.264 8-bit/AAC codecs and up to two audio channels. Live processing and file processing cannot run together. New video upscaling needs RTX 3060 or higher; frame generation needs RTX 40 Series or higher.
Our proposed test is a short voice recording with fan and keyboard noise, processed once and compared with the original for both noise reduction and lost words. PROPOSED SAMPLE — NOT TESTED. We have not installed this update or verified a compatible test PC.
