Kling 4.0: 30-Second Clips, Keyframes, and Features Still Coming Soon

Kling’s current guide describes longer clips and keyframe controls, but rollout, job pricing and several headline output features still need checking.

Kling’s official October 14, 2026 guide describes Kling 4.0 with 3–30-second generation, up to ten keyframes, and combined reference inputs. Those controls could help creators plan a short scene instead of hoping a single opening image carries the whole sequence.

Read past the headline specifications

The official guide advertises up to 15 reference assets in total, subject to individual limits. It describes separate Omni Reference and Keyframes entry points and says their capabilities cannot be combined in one generation task. Ten keyframes is a control option—not proof that every object stays identical.

The documentation still labels 1080p/4K 10-bit HDR output and extensions up to two minutes as coming soon. Its specification table can look broader than the nearby rollout notes. We would use the restrictions and the actual generation panel, not assume that every listed format has shipped.

Rollout and costs still need a live check

Kling’s feature page directs users to select Kling 4.0 in its Video Generation workspace, while still marking high-resolution output as coming soon. We have not verified which accounts or regions can use each mode, the exact full-rollout date, a current job price, or a free allocation. The release page did not expose readable rollout details in our latest check. Check the mode and credit quote shown in your own account before generating; older Kling prices may not apply.

Our proposed test: keep the monitor in the room

PROPOSED SAMPLE — NOT TESTED. Use one original room image and a ten-second clip: “Locked camera in a dim workshop. The desk lamp slowly turns toward the toolbox. The CRT monitor remains fully visible in the same position and shape throughout. Preserve the room layout. No subtitles or background music.”

This proposed test would compare the monitor, lamp, and room edges frame by frame. The Click Test has not generated this sample or verified account-level model access and pricing.

Verdict: WATCH. The official capability announcement is useful news. It is not yet a tested recommendation for a free workflow, and the improvement claims remain the company’s. Checked October 17, 2026.
