OpenAI began rolling out ChatGPT Slides on October 16, 2026, for eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access. The feature brings editable presentations into ChatGPT. Access depends on the account and rollout, so this is not a free feature available to everyone.
A slide made for this test
We built a fresh example about a familiar creator task: recording a lesson, editing it, reviewing it, and publishing after approval. The diagram below is an actual render of our new native slide. Its shapes, connectors and text remain separate editable objects in Space.
What worked in our check
We created the native presentation, added the diagram, changed the subtitle, and saved the edit. The saved document returned the new wording, and its final preview rendered correctly. We also checked the direction of the arrows and fixed a wrapped label before showing the result.
This was a small test through the connected presentation editor. It confirms native creation, a stored text change and rendering in this account. It does not establish that one prompt automatically produces a polished deck. PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides exports, live collaboration, animations and audio remain NOT TESTED.
What OpenAI announced
The October 16 release notes describe starting from a conversation, files, an outline or an example deck. OpenAI lists editable text, pictures, shapes and charts, with team collaboration and web exports to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides.
For a creator, the useful part is being able to adjust a label without rebuilding the whole visual. But editable does not automatically mean well designed. The result still needs a human check before an audience sees it.
A prompt to try
Create one presentation slide in Space showing this workflow: Record, Edit, Review, Publish. Add a revision loop from Review back to Edit. Use editable shapes and connectors, large labels and muted colors. Then change only the subtitle.
PROPOSED PROMPT — NOT TESTED as a prompt-driven workflow. Our sample was assembled through native presentation tools. Check that your existing eligible account has Slides available before planning a project around it. The general Space guide still contains older “coming soon” wording; the newer dated release note and your account’s controls are the relevant access checks.
