Finding a brief reaction shot can take longer than editing it. In an October 19, 2026 announcement, NVIDIA described Adobe Frame.io search improvements aimed at large video libraries, highlighting German producer UFA’s archive workflow.

What changed
NVIDIA reports roughly five times faster embedding generation, up to four times higher throughput and up to five times lower search-processing latency. It also describes a two-frame-per-second proxy that is about 80 percent smaller than the previous 360p proxy. These are company figures for processing stages, not a measured speed increase for every editor’s search.
Visual search itself predates this announcement. Frame.io’s earlier search guide already explains finding moments by visual content and combining those matches with transcripts, comments or metadata.
Check your plan before uploading
That guide assigns semantic visual search to Team and Enterprise accounts. The current pricing page lists Team at $25 per member per month plus tax on monthly billing, with Enterprise quoted separately. A free Frame.io account does not establish access to this visual-search workflow. The October announcement does not give a universal rollout date for every backend improvement.
Useful when filenames are not enough
The practical benefit is finding a moment by describing its contents, particularly in a large shared archive. Upload and indexing time still matter, and a plausible search match needs visual inspection. The Click Test has not independently tested search accuracy or the reported performance gains.
