FLUX 3 Max Launches on fal: Faster Video Claims, Paid Access

fal launched FLUX 3 Max on October 19 with faster-video claims and introductory pricing. Here is what is available, what costs money and what we have not tested.

fal announced FLUX 3 Max on October 19, 2026, at 3:46 p.m. Eastern. Built with Black Forest Labs, the new video model is aimed at a familiar creator problem: waiting between attempts while a shot still needs work. Faster iteration is the promise—not a result The Click Test has measured.

What is new—and what it is not

FLUX 3 Max is fal Research’s post-trained version of the FLUX 3 foundation model, developed with Black Forest Labs. The company’s dated announcement confirms availability through fal’s inference platform. This is video-generation news, separate from FLUX 3 Image Klein photo editing.

In the image-to-video listing, a starting image and motion prompt guide a 5–20-second clip; an ending image is optional. Audio can be switched on or off. The listing offers 720p and describes its 1080p option as upscaling. Do not read the wider FLUX family’s specifications as guarantees for this particular endpoint.

Paid access, with a temporary lower price

The official launch page lists promotional 720p pricing of $0.0425 per output second until November 7, versus a $0.17 list rate. A five-second 720p clip therefore calculates to about $0.21 at the advertised promotional rate. No subscription is required, but that does not mean generation is free. Sign-in is required to run the playground; we have not verified a free allocation or minimum account top-up.

Treat the speed numbers as company claims

fal advertises roughly 11–12 seconds of generation time for a ten-second clip and cites a preliminary image-to-video preference evaluation. Its pages currently show different timing figures, so these are not a guaranteed turnaround time or our independent comparison. The API documentation distinguishes inference time from prompt expansion, decoding and upload.

Proposed sample — NOT TESTED

One useful check would start with an original product photo and request: “One continuous five-second shot. Slowly move the camera a quarter-circle around the bottle. Keep its shape, cap, printed label and spelling unchanged. Soft studio lighting; no added text or music.” Compare the label and geometry frame by frame—not just the attractive opening frame.

The Click Test has not independently tested FLUX 3 Max. The speed and quality claims above are the company’s, not our measured results.
